Smoking Cigarettes Leads to Impotence



Now a day’s sexual problems are very much common to every man, most of times these sexual problem are temporary. Erectile dysfunction is also one of them, which is quite common to every men, it is a situation in which men is not able to achieve strong erection during sexual stimulation. This condition diminishes a man’s self-confidence and self-esteem which affect a man’s relationship. Because of this the cases of divorce or breakups between couples has been increases.

What causes impotence?
There are numerous factors which can lead to impotence some can be physical or some can be psychological. The Physical factor that causes ED  include smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol, obesity, atherosclerosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, medications, prostate or abdominal surgery and injury to your spinal cord or nervous system. And the psychological factors which can cause impotence include stress, guilt, anxiety, fatigue, depression, sexual boredom and many more.
But it is commonly observed that Smoking has become leading factor which cause male impotence.  The research has proved that smoking not cause impotence but it also cause many health problems like cancers, heart problems and many more.
 Nitric oxide plays an important role to keep your blood vessels healthy. The endothelium helps to increase the blood flow into the body. Nitric oxide completes this function by relaxing your blood vessels and keeps your arteries smooth and free of plaque. But when you smoke nicotine enters in your body and obstructs the function of nitric oxide which causes the blood vessels to narrow down this decrease the blood supply in your body and also in your penile area which causes difficulties in achieving erections which turns to impotence.

Can smoking cessation help treat impotence?
It is observed that impotence because of smoking makes it difficult to treat the condition because smoking reduces the effectiveness of anti-impotence drug like Generic viagra, Caverta, Meltabs and Zenegra. Thus men who smoke have great risk of impotence than non smokers. It has also been observed that smoking for a longer period of time causes impotence. Therefore if you are smoking form long time, you can suffer from the problem of impotence, so it is time to quit smoking to save your sex life.
